LINKIN PARK Releasing New Song Through iPhone App
January 8, 2010The Pulse of Radio reports: LINKIN PARK will debut a new song through an upcoming iPhone application, according to a post at frontman Mike Shinoda's personal web site. The app, a touch game called Linkin Park: 8-Bit Rebellion, will arrive later this month. According to Shinoda, players in the game are part of a rebellion against an evil multi-national corporation. He writes, "Items have been stolen from the six leaders of the rebellion. Collecting these items is the rebellion's only hope to thwarting the plans of the evil PixxelKorp." Anyone who finds all six items will be rewarded with a new LINKIN PARK tune at the end.
Shinoda added that more details will be coming soon.
LINKIN PARK is currently working on its fourth studio album, due out by mid-2010. Singer Chester Bennington told The Pulse of Radio that he expects fans to be surprised with the results. "Everybody in the band is involved in the writing process, so I think sonically, if people felt like they knew what LINKIN PARK was or they could, they thought they knew what LINKIN PARK's sound was — if (2007 album) 'Minutes To Midnight' threw them off, they're in for a ride, 'cause it's getting harder and harder for us, let alone anybody else, to classify what LINKIN PARK is."
There's no word yet on what the iPhone song will be, but presumably it will also find its way onto the new album.
